2018 Year in Review

Can you believe that 2018 is almost over?! With the year coming to an end, I thought it would be a good time to reflect on the year that's been.. This blog will look back at some of my favorite NCRPA wellness initiative content from 2018.

  • In 2018, we added a new menu item to the wellness toolkit: resources. This page was designed to present you with current research being conducted on the power of recreation and parks! The links listed on this page contain infographics, white pages, and more! Be sure to check it out!

  • In March, the NCRPA Wellness Blog featured a guest post written by Aaron Davis, Program Supervisor for Graham Recreation and Parks, and NCRPA board member. Aaron wrote about a fun idea that helps him stay active: house walking. This could be a great way to stay active during the cold winter season! Click this link for more!

  • This July for Parks and Recreation month, the wellness blog celebrated all of the “undiscovered” roles of parks and recreation through the theme "A Lifetime of Discovery". From mental health benefits to our profession being a large provider for out of school time meals, parks and recreation truly does it all.

  • In 2018, the NCRPA wellness webinar series had a great run! One of my favorite webinars of the year was brought to us by a great team from the Town of Cary. They joined us to discuss the Kid's Together Playground - an inclusive and innovative play area. Click this link to watch a recording!

I hope that you all have a happy and restful New Year! Please stay tuned for new wellness content coming in 2019!

Until next time,
