Grant Opportunities

The goal of the NCRPA Wellness Initiative is to provide recreation and park agencies with resources to improve health programming, infrastructure, and policy efforts in your community. This wellness blog will give you a few resources and opportunities that your department may want to consider pursuing. 


There are a number of current grant opportunities that can help encourage your community to get outside and healthy. Below, I've listed a few:


The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Sports Award Program: 


The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation (RWJF) is offering awards of $10,000 to three projects that use sports to address the root causes that influence health and health equity. Applications are due on May 29th. Click this link to learn more and to apply! 


Rural Community Development Initiative Grant Program: 


The USDA is accepting applications for the Rural Community Development Initiative to help strengthen rural economies.These grants can help support housing, community facilities, and community and economic development projects in rural areas. Applications are due by June 5th. Click this link to apply. 


Voices for Healthy Kids Policy Campaign Grants:


The Voices for Healthy Kids Policy initiative aims to engage, organize, and mobilize people to help all children grow up at a healthy weight. The goal of the grant opportunities within this initiative is to make effective strategic investments in ongoing state, local, and tribal public policy issue campaigns in order to increase public policy impact on healthy weight and living among children. Click this link to learn more and to apply!
